SF Climate Week party and film screening!
Everybody in the Pool is presenting an exclusive screening of The Here Now Project, a documentary about the climate crisis told through social media video. With drinks!
This is simultaneously a newsletter post, press release, and plea for support! I did not think when I planned this reception, screening, and panel that it would turn out to be a moment of pure activism and grassroots support. But when our original corporate sponsor declined to move forward because of "changing priorities," I realized that presenting the straightforward reality of the impact of climate change on everyday people around the world is, in fact, um, activism.
And since climate change doesn't care if you believe in climate change, by god, we are doing it. I hope all of you will join me and the makers of this film in some form, in person, in support, and in, you know, reality. :) All ticket sales and any contributions beyond that go to support the cost of putting on the film — we are a little grassroots effort and to be honest, I think that’s kind of appropriate right now. Despair is top down, but hope is bottom up. xoxo
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Groundbreaking Climate Documentary Screening During San Francisco Climate Week 2025
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — March 19, 2025 — As climate denial resurges despite undeniable evidence all around us, Molly Wood Media and the Everybody in the Pool podcast are proud to present an exclusive screening of "The Here Now Project" during San Francisco Climate Week 2025. This powerful documentary chronicles a single year of real-time climate shocks through the eyes of those experiencing them firsthand.
THE HERE NOW PROJECT: CLIMATE REALITY WITHOUT FILTERS
Emmy-winning filmmakers Greg Jacobs and Jon Siskel have created a groundbreaking documentary that offers no narration, no talking heads, and no agenda—only the raw, unfiltered reality of our changing climate. Painstakingly assembled from thousands of hours of in-the-moment social media footage, the film takes viewers on a global journey through extreme weather events: from the devastating Texas freeze to Siberian wildfires, and catastrophic flooding to scorching heat waves.
"The film's power comes from its authenticity," says climate journalist and investor Molly Wood. "By showing climate change through the eyes of ordinary people recording extraordinary circumstances, it creates an undeniable record of our current reality that transcends political divides."
