aren't we also in some kind of 111 year cycle for solar storms? I seem to recall running across that factoid somewhere. one good solar strike that touches land and ZAAAP! no more electronics, no more EVs, no more substack. we're back in the mid 19th century.

I find that notion comforting in a strange way.

Not all EVs have the one pedal driving. That's a Tesla thing. One more reason to buy something else.

Regarding the Tesla driving, you can request your driver to turn off "ECO" mode and that will reduce the regenerative braking and hopefully the motion sickness.

Physics girl did an excellent explanation of the aurora borealis and the solar cycles occurring every 11 years. It’s fantastic and on YouTube. Hope you get to see some!

Amen on the tesla carsick thing... rented a Model 3 last week while my car is being repaired just to get my son to stop pestering me. Definitely got the impression that the car was designed by engineers that have never/don't drive with any regularity. The UI from the perspective of a driver is an F. And yes the one-pedal driving was very unsettling/annoying until I figured out how to turn it off.
